Deals this Week

Not really alot to report this week for the handful of people who choose to read my deals.

Free at walgreens

Wheat thins on sale at brookshires.

I also want to make sure that everyone is aware and using the walmart savings catcher app. For those of you who absolutely dont want to touch a coupon here is any easy way for you to save!! Download the walmart app, scan your receipt after shopping and then the app will search for any competitor prices and then PAY YOU the difference!!! Yes, seriously. Its like price matching without the work. A coworker has earned up to $20 from her last trip. Ive only earned 28 cents which is a result of already knowing the lowest prices. However this may change the way i shop. We will see!!

Bonus pics for the weekend!!

Best of Me book review

So i just finished my first ever audio book!!! In general I loved loved loved the audio book. I feel so accomplished that I completed a task start to finish that involved noone else and was for my own enjoyment. I like saying "yes, I just read this book......"

So lets talk about the book itself. The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. I have read several (not all) of his books and enjoyed some, thought some were okay, and didnt like one at all.

The best of me falls into the "okay" category. There were some parts that I appreciated and that tugged at the heart strings and other parts that I didnt agree with, and then parts that I thought were too predictable. His writting style has always been a favorite of mine so it was an easy "read" just not the BEST story ever.

At the time I chose it at the library, I did not know it would be made into a movie so that was a little interesting discovery. Not sure though if it makes it much better since I dont really watch movies.

I am, however, pumped to choose my next book to "read". I will see you tonight, library!!

And just for fun....

Manic Monday

Here we go, time for another week. Usually, I am pretty excited about the week and ready to rest in my weekly responsibilities. Today, I am really tired. My house is a hot mess with munchkin market clothes overtaking our living space, I havent scheduled my "numbers" for the week, I have one week left to pass a certification test, I am way behind in my big whit duties...geez can I nap please?

This is the face of munchkin market preperation:

Can we also talk about a little pet peeve of mine? Mardi gras beads. They are like a bottomless pit of items that I am constantly putting away yet they keep showing up. Lets go on a little field trip through my house shall we?

They are everywhere!! Let me also throw in my annoyance with plastic Easter eggs. They tend to also grow from every area of my house.

However there is something great about this week. It ends with FOOTBALL!!!!!! I am overjoyed and so excited about this!!!!!!

Style

Whats your style? I dont have one. I dont think I do anyway. I probably do, just not a good one. Lately,
I have been a little more intentional about my dress and clearing out items in my closet that are just not meant for public viewing.

I am finally jumping on the bandwagon of necklaces. Plain shirts and necklaces. It took years to get me into skinny pants so Im a slow learner.

Here are a few outfits I have been happy with lately.

What are we thinking? Should I continue on this path?

Weekend Wrap Up

I have made an important observation.  As I look at my reader numbers for each blog I write there is an obvious trend.  My Deals of the Week post DROP numbers dramatically and anything else I blog about RISE in numbers.  Clearly, people have turned their back on couponing and moved on.  I have noticed this more and more.  Friends who I thought would make it have abandoned the thought. This is interesting feedback as I continue my blogging journey.  Basically you don't care about the deals?? Is this what your telling me people?  I am not sure how I feel about this.  I am still processing.

So lets talk weekend.

I taught a class this weekend on sensory play experiences that was lots of fun!! One of the most popular ideas that my audience loved is the Cloud Dough.  Mix Flour and baby oil for a really fun sensory play experience.  It is soft and really addicting to play with, my kids love it!!!

I felt the need to bake something even though the scales say STOP putting yummy things in your tummy.  You are gonna need to try at this recipe.  It is AH-MAZING. I am taking it straight from the source.

Yum!!!!!!!!!

Back in the Kitchen

I closed out my cooking hiatis last weekend and whipped up some family meals pleasing to all who gathered around my table. Well, except for landon who apparently likes nothing other than soft pretzals and sno cones. So that leaves me, D and Ruddick were so happy I had returned!!

Grilled chicken with roasted okra. To.die.for!! Use my search box to find how to make this okra. D rated it a 10

Bbq shrimp. Also searchable to find the recipe. The corn was fresh from a friend and D exclaimed that it was the best corn he has ever put in his mouth.

And then of course, my ole go to tilapia. Topped with grated parm cheese.

I can assure you that everyone in the family appreciates my return. Again, except for Landon who insists that everything is "nasty" which makes me crazy. Pray for me. I want to thump her :)

Week Wrap Up

Oh Monday morning, here you are again.  Honestly, I am ready for!! My 3 year NEEDS to be back on a schedule.  My little princess has increased her level of royalty since she has been home for over 2 weeks and not feeling well alot of the time.  I think the only words she is capable of saying is "I want to watch a movie" and "I am really hungry, what do you have".  Yes, I did allow her to watch alot of movies and eat whatever and whenever she wanted after having her tonsils jerked from her throat.  Maybe it went on a little too long simply because I was avoiding maning up and regaining control of my house.  Oh, and she now sleeps in my bed.........like she owns it.  Oh and she stopped napping.  See?!?  It is driving me NUTS!!!

Hopefully, today will be a good day at school (if she stays healthy) and we can resume our typical daily life sans 3 year old tonsils.  I can assure you she will be in a tutu.

R is moving up to a big boy toddler class today.  Its bitter sweet, but it is time.  I have held him back in the creeper room as long as I can as younger children moved before him.  Developmentally, I did not think he was ready to be in a larger room with less controlled chaos.  Now, he is ready although I am still nervous.  Perhaps his speech will improve with the older/same age children??  We are also getting ready to have an OT evaluation (per the recommendation of his speech therapist).  He keeps his thumbs tucked under and his fist closed ALOT.  He can use his fingers and thumbs, but then they immediately go back to fist.  Because of this, his fine motor skills are very weak.

Happy Monday

School Supplies

I am all about the school supplies right now.  Yes, I know, I do not currently have any children in the school setting.  But the deals people, the deals!!!! I can spend $20 over this "Back to School" sale season and get lots of art supplies for my kids, as well as, items to donate!

Many of you will rebel against my system and state that you only want to go one time to one store and get all you need.  Fine....if you would like to spend more money and not embrace the crazy deals.....to each his own.  For me, I like to chase a sale.

I like to have a bottom line of what I would pay for an item .  I clearly don't have the pressure of a supply list and a deadline, so lets consider this practice for the real deal in a couple of years.  I should be a pro by then!!

Here are my office depot finds this week

Notebooks 10 cents, glue sticks 25 cents, colors 50 cents and sharpies 25 cents! LOVE IT!!!
