Deals this Week

I was not overwhelmed with anything this week, so this will be short!

I am on the roll with "rolling" my up rewards at Rite Aid!! I was glad to see a couple of great items that we use to keep me going.

Renu contact solution was on sale for 8.99 with $6 up rewards. I used $2 off from coupons.com to make it 99 cents!! This coupon is no longer available, but I have am extra one if you need it!!

I also picked up crest toothpaste for $3 with $3 up and used 50 cents off from coupons.com. Moneymaker!!

With my rewards I paid $5 out of pocket and received $9 back!! I've seen HUGE savings at Rite Aid this month. I have spent a little bit here and a little bit there (mostly tax) and gotten a ton of products!!

In the past, I could go weeks without going to Rite Aid...weeks. Well, the powers that be must have heard my battle cry because it is as if they have written every deal just for ME!! The cashiers typically arent super knowledgable about coupons, but its not complicated and every transaction usually works out.

Remember that the Ups rewards that you have on file will cover your subtotal before tax.  Ups rewards will print at the bottom of your ticket and is the only record of the rewards you have and when they expire.  Keep your ticket!!!  Also, remember that Up rewards can't be split.  For example, you have a $5 reward to use and you purchased a $3 product.  It will not be applied to the product because it does not equal $5.  Once you scan your wellness card, the rewards available will automatically apply to your total (I have amazed some cashiers at how far my total was reduced!).

Rewards expire after a week and a half.  So once you have received a reward you have committed to shopping again at Rite Aid within that time frame.  Otherwise, you are THROWING AWAY money.  Please don't do this people!!  If you have not had time to check out the deals that week, buy some birthday cards or off brand cold medicine.....something that you can use.

Also....if you have not signed up for emails at CVS.com...DO.IT.NOW.  Yesterday they emailed me ANOTHER $3 Extra Care Bucks.  This is free money with no purchase.  I have seriously received about $15 worth of these in my email.  It is insanity.  You could walk in to CVS and receive $3 worth of products for FREE!!!!

I love the easy weeks!  It keeps me motivated and reminds me that this is all worth it to save money!!!

Deals this Week

This week has been super crazy for me.  I am behind in EVERYTHING  in life so checking out weekly deals got pushed back several days.  Honestly, my Sunday paper is still in the back seat of my car!!

As we are heading into the end of the week, I wanted to point out a few things that I think are worth your time.  I knew that I had up rewards at Rite Aid that expired today, so I took a quick look at Krazy Coupon Lady to find a few easy deals for products I use.

Noxema Shaving Cream is still on sale for $1.99 with $2 Up rewards.  The limit is 4 and I picked up a couple last week and I grabbed a couple more today.

I was SO EXCITED to see that Special K cereal was on sale for 2 for $4 (compared to $3 a box at Wal-Mart).  You will use an in-ad Rite Aid coupon to get this price and stack with $1 off coupon from coupons.com.  Totaling $1 a box!!! Cereal prices have been AMAZING lately!!

Finally, bags of fun size snickers were on sale for 2 for $5 with a $1 up reward with the purchase of 2.  I bought 6 bags and used 2 $1.50 off 3 coupons from coupons.com.  With coupons and ups rewards it equals $1.50 per bag!!

Compared to this Wal-Mart price!!

Halloween candy.  Check!  Ready for the trick or treaters!!

My out of pocket expense for all of these items including tax was $2.50!!! I then received $7 ups rewards back!! You absolutely cannot beat this system.  It is so much fun and such a high to know that you are really stocking up with rock bottom prices for your family.

I am keeping a tally of all of my grocery expenses over the month of September to share with you at the end of the month.  I have been able to significantly reduce my monthly grocery bill and I hope to encourage others to do the same!!!

Better Late Than Never - Deals this Week 9/2

I apologize for this late post but I have good reasons! I had some wonderful guests the entire weekend and had a blast!! I will post on this fun family visit in the next few days.

For now, I want to get to the deals this week.

Walgreens:

I am so excited about this deal, I can hardly stand it.  Unfortunately, they were out once I got to the store :(  So for the first time ever I asked for a Rain Check.  It was actually no big deal.  A rain check allows you to use the sale price when the store re-stocks the item.

Use $1 Kashi coupon from coupons.com or from the back of a previous Kashi box and score this cereal for 99 cents vs $3 at Walmart!!

If Crest is your brand, this is the time to pick it up, along with a bottle of scope.  Find $1.50 off coupon for scope and 50 cent off crest in the PG 9/1 insert.

Rite Aid:
$2.50 for a 12 pack is the price to look for for canned cokes.  This week at Rite Aid, you can get this deal.

There is also an unadvertised deal on Noxema Shaving Cream.  Sale price $1.99 with $2 UP rewards!! You can get 4 bottles for FREE!!

Buy 2 boxes of K-cups at $5.99 and use two 1.50 coupons from coupons.com.  Spend $10 get $3 ups rewards.

This makes each k-cup 25 cents!! I usually consider 40 to 50 cents a decent deal so 25 cents is AWESOME!

Buy 2 Say Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towels at $5.99.  Use 2 $3 off from coupons.com.  Spend $10 get $5 ups rewards.  This makes each one 46 cents!!! What?!?

Colgate toothpaste.  $2.99 with $2 Ups Rewards.  Use 75 Cent coupon from coupons.com and SS 8/25.

CVS:

Scan the Magic coupon machine for the deals this week!  No extra coupons needed!

Klenex box 88 cents - $1 off PG product from coupon machine = FREE

Soup $1 - 50 cents off from coupon machine = 50 cents

CVS lotions $1.50 each - $2/2 from coupon machine = 2 for $1

Here is a pic of my killer deals this week.  The only thing that would make it better would be several boxes of 99 cent Kashi cereal.  Patience, I guess.

$38.81 worth of product for $8.  Thats $30 in savings just this week! Let's get to couponing ladies! Join the obsession!!

The Deals This Week

Before I get to the deals I snatched up this week, we need to talk.  If you read my blog consistently (all 4 of you), you know that I try to eat a somewhat of a low-carb diet.  I am not a strict Atkins girl, but I try to choose dinner options that don't include pasta or bread.  I most certainly splurge and will eat 11 freshly made homemade cookies if you sit them in front of me, but I don't stock them in my house.  Well, now I have found a new diet plan that I am unfortunately committing to in the very very near future.

Let me first clarify my weight loss goals.  I know that I am not overweight.  I also know that I am not in shape.  I will address that in the Fall with exercise.....maybe.  My initial goal is basically to fit back into the clothes I was wearing before my pregnancy with R.  Every once in a while I still wear maternity pants to work.  Very often, I still wear the belly band to secure my dress pants I can't seem to button.  The morning closet scan has become a dreaded moment for me due to the struggle of just finding something to fit.  I feel for the neglected cute shorts that will have to go into storage for another year before they see the sunlight.  I am stuck with a mere 7 lbs left to loose.

Okay...so the diet plan.  Are you ready for this?  Wait for it........ADULT BRACES!!!
Did you gasp? Are you frightened? Will you call me braceface??  How is this a diet plan you ask? I will have lots of rubber bands parading around my mouth in order to straighten up my jaw (the reason for the braces).  I cannot imagine that a snack here and there will be worth taking and putting back in all those pesky little things.  Plus the basic thought of a mouth full of metal just makes me nauseous.  Ugh!

The date is August 15th.  Please keep me in your thoughts.

On to the Deals of the Week.

My husband has challenged me to spend little out of pocket this month and just ride on the rewards I receive as well as my stockpile.  So, that is what I will focus on for this week.  Of course I am still taking advantage of alot of school supply offers to help my friend Misti who is a full-time missionary and in need.

WALGREENS:

Transaction #1 -

Crest Mouthwash - Use $1.50 coupon from 7/28 paper.
Paid $1.76 -  Receive $2.00 Register Rewards (moneymaker)

Transaction #2 -

Colgate toothpaste - Use $1 coupon from 7/28 paper - Receive $2.50 Register Reward
3 Compasses - $.87
1 10 pack of pens - $.29
6 5 packs of mechanical pencils - $1.74
Bic colored pencils - on sale .99 use $1 off Bic from 8/4 paper (free!)
Use $2.00 from first transaction and pay $4.76  out of pocket and receive $2 Register Reward

So $6.52 out of pocket with $2.50 RR back so basically $4.02 for all of these products!

RITE AID

Rite Aid did not have any AMAZING deals this week, but I had a ton of Ups Rewards that I had to use before expiration.  When this happens, it is time to search the sales for products you use, on sale for the week, and is cheaper than Walmart.  Alot of times I am just looking for the freebies or under a $1, but they are not always available.  You don't want to pay full price for an item (or worse over the cost of Wal-Mart) just because you have Ups rewards.  That defeats the purpose of getting the original good deal that gave you the Ups!

Here is what I found....

Wet and Wild Nail Polish on sale for $.67.  Use 2.00/3 from 7/28 paper.  Final price .01 cent for all 3!!!
***I never buy nail polish, but it was fun to splurge on fun colors since it was free***

Now this next deal is a little embarrasing. Since honesty is good for the soul, I will share.  My hubs is really into foot care.  He is.  It's weird.  Since, I don't want him to go and spend crazy money on powders and creams, I have to be on the look out for good prices.  I can't believe I am even sharing this!!!

Gold Bond Powder BOGO 50% off
Gold Bond Foot Cream BOGO 50% off
Use 4 $1 off coupons from smartsource online.

Used up rewards from last week and paid $2.67 out of pocket and received $6 up rewards.

Okay, so this week I've spent about $9 out of of pocket. I didn't need any groceries so I am on track so far.

What have you learned from today's blog? My hubs takes care of his feet and I am about to be Brace Face.  Do you feel educated? :)

Deals this Week - July 29th

First off....Happy Bday to D!! The kids wanted to represent well this morning, so "they" decided on daddy themed outfits.

RL is really starting to understand birthdays and was very happy to offer her Leap Frog cake to D to "blow out" the candles.  Of course, he didn't "do it right" so she had to quickly come to his rescue.  She also made him a card.  I pulled out all of our art supplies and she chose her materials.  I gave her a picture of herself to glue and she insisted that it wasn't complete without a picture of mamma and daddy.  She didn't mention Ruddick.  Poor baby.

The deals....

It is a big week in the couponing world.  So big that I once again left the house at 6:30 AM on Sunday morning to catch the sales.  I had a few things to pick up from Wal-Mart and then on to Walgreens and Rite Aid.  I have mentioned several times that I don't often find great deals at Rite Aid, but they proved me wrong this week.

Use 75 cents from pg 7/7 or 50 cents from pg 7/28. This is a moneymaker and can be done twice

Use chexmix coupon from coupons.com. Makes them 75 cents a bag!

2nd foods 2 packs are $1.79. So with the up rewards, its 29 cents each 2 pack. You can get 4 rewards!

Use $1 coupon from coupons.com to equal a free toothbrush! The limit is 2.

Finally, free school supplies. The monroe rite aid had a very low supply. You can do this deal once.

Here is my presentation.

Fun times!!

I picked up a few things a walgreens. There is a $2 coupon on coupons.com for a 2 pack reach toothbrush and you also get $2 rewards. This is a $1 moneymaker. I also got 10 folders for 10 cents each and a dozen eggs for 99 cents!

>These are the best
deals in my opinion at Rite Aid this week.It makes it worth the trip. After paying tax and then subtracting what you got back, the cost is around $5. Since I had previous Up rewards to use on my purchase, I paid about $16 out of pocket and received about $23 in Up rewards. This means
I will be stalking great deals at Rite Aid for the next couple of weeks to use my rewards.

Deals this week.

There a lot of great deals this week that allowed me to stock up on items that my family regular uses rather its on sale or not.
Kashi and Special K cereal on sale for 2.50 at Walgreens compared to $3 at Walmart (i had a few $1 off coupons collected from the back of previous boxes).

Also at Walgreens, chex mix bogo ($3.17) plus I had a couple of 50 cents off 1 and 60 cents off 2 so I got them for $1.08 and $1.28.

Plus....a great price on water. $1.99!!

Rite aid has the crest mouthwash on sale for 4.99 with a $3 up rewards. Use a $1.10 coupon from coupons.com and score it for 89 cents.

Plus reach toothbrush on sale with up rewards and coupon from coupons.com

Cvs has tampons with $3 extra bucks plus $3 coupon from coupons.com equals $1.99.

These are just a few highlights. Let me know if your looking for even more deals!!!

I served seared Tuna last night!! I've posted my recipe before and it is soooooo good. Garlic ginger (found in the Asian aisle) is the key. This is not something that can be made unless someone else is in control of the kids. You have to really watch the tuna when it's in the skillet. Total time is only about 25 mins.
I pour a mixture of rice vinegar, balsamic vinegar, garlic ginger, and season with salt and pepper. Use the back of a fork and press into the tuna a bit.

The rice vinegar and balsamic vinegar are totally not necessary. I just had it, so I added it.

Heat evoo on med heat for about 3 mins until hot and then place the tuna.

I added celery.

If you want it good and seared it takes about 3 to 4 minutes per side.

After removing from the skillet, I reseason with salt, pepper, and soy.

It is great over a spinach salad with balsamic vinegarette dressing.

And for an update on the family. We are trying out a new sticker chart strategy with RL. We really need to get her in the habit of picking up after herself,
Poopooing in the potty (and not her panties or the floor) and also keeping her clothes on.

I let her help decorate it.

I started out by giving her a sticker for anything she slightly did good. I wanted her to get the hang of it. The p stands for prize ( 10 stickers equals a trip to the prize box) and the t stands for tea party (which she loves). This is also a good way to reinforce letters and counting.

Yesterday was Ruddick's 6 mth bday and I totally forgot. Mom fail. He is just now getting the hang of rolling over. Both of my kids were "behind" in this milestone. RL actually had to attend physical therapy when she still wasn't pushing up at 6 mths. I am so thankful that Ruddick is progressing.

*****i intended to include a super cute pic here but he fell asleep before I got one ******
