CVS deals

I didnt think I would be stopping at CVS this week, but Ive changed my mind. I am completely out of diet coke so I have decided for the first time I would try out their free gas offer. You must spend $30 of the labeled items and you will receive a $10 gas card. Sounds like a sweet deal if you choose your items carefully. Here is how my trip will play out.

3 12 packs

4 cereals and 2 nature valleys (combined with coupons)

Angel soft combined with coupon

1 gum pack

The $30 is the total PRE coupons. The sale prices on these items are less than walmart and with the FREE gas card you are golden!!

I will also pick up a case water!

Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore

Do you cook meals at home?  If you are interested in cost savings, I hope the answer is yes!! When you look at the dinner table and break down each food item prepared, how much is your cost?

Sometimes our meals at home can get pretty pricey.  Unfortunately, the healthier the more costly.  Blah....I hate that, but we have to roll with it and embrace this mixed up world (on so many levels).

This is my game plan.  I like to stay between $5 and $7 per meal for a family of 4.  A splurge would be between $10 and $12.  How do you think you compare to this?  Think about it next time you are cooking your meal.

Here is an example of a quick and easy (and rated a 10 by my husband) meal.

CROCKPOT CHICKEN CACCIATORE

I used frozen chicken from Sams and one of my fav inexpensive buys (with sales and coupons) Kraft's Recipe.  Simply follow the directions.  It calls for bell peppers, but I didnt have any so I used onions instead.  Adding veggies is not completely necessary.  Since my chicken was frozen I cooked on low for about 6-7 hours.

I paired it with squash that my co-worker was giving away for FREE at the office!!

I seasoned with salt and pepper and steamed with a bit of water and butter and my pampered chef steamer. BRILLIANT! No more steamer bags!

This meal was really really really good!! You can put it over pasta or low carb with no pasta. Adding squash or zuchinni takes care of the "filling" part of the pasta!!

Enjoy!

Deals this Week

So my newspaper this week was missing the CVS and Rite Aid ad AND my coupons!!! Seriously?!? I need the name and number of the person responsible for this blunder immediately!!!! Fortunately, the coupons were weak this week so I will let the culprit live. Lucky.

Here are a few things I found:

Paired with a coupon from previous boxes

Paired with a $3
Coupon from previous paper

Target: use cartwheel and red card

Beat the walmart price and it is H.O.T.

Sorry for the sideway pics. Happy Monday!!

Hello Friends!

Hello All!!

The last couple of weeks I took a surprise break from blogging.  Sitting down in front of a computer or my phone just did not work into my schedule.

New blogs coming up soon as I get back into the routine of things.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

IT IS VACATION WEEK!!!!

Did I yell that loud enough???  Yes, folks, it is count down to the beach!!! I seriously can NOT contain myself.  I have not been on a week long vacation since I was in high school and my daddy carried that bill.  We have been totally BLESSED that our friends invited us to share their FREE condo offered to them by a client.  I adore this family.   They are PERFECT to vacation with and I know we will have an amazing time!!!!

Do you know how much it cost to vacation??? ALOT!!  We always focus on the cost of the hotel and perhaps the food, but what about everything else that we need to do to PREPARE for the vacay.  Let me tell you about it, because my cost are adding up QUICK.

1) The cost to board my dog.......I cannot even speak it aloud
2)  Wait.....where is my suitcase?? Oh yeah, we threw it away after I could not safety pin the gigantic hole any longer.  Who in the world likes buying new luggage.  Yuck
3) Beach props.......well, you don't want the kids to be board
4) Safety devices for both kids
5) Gas.....enough said
6) Oil Changed

In addition and unfortunately for me, I have not been at my new job long enough to earn vacation time.  So I will actually be loosing pay.....no fun.

We have been saving a while to take care of these cost, so we hopefully won't get hit too hard!!  This is when those multiple jobs come in handy!! I can most certainly get creative when we are in need of extra money.  I'll give you a few ideas.

1) Our credit card offers cash back.  We ONLY use the card for the rewards and pay it off at the end of each month....otherwise, you are not earning money
2) I sell stuff on facebook.....and stash the cash for vacation.  I love watching that money grow!
3) Any money I make from selling makeup, dancer buckets and pampered chef goes into the vacation fund
4) I have saved a gift card from my Big Whit boss for 2 years for this vacation!!

Obviously.....lots of couponing help us to prepare for and ENJOY this well deserved vacation!!!!

SIX DAYS!!!
